Ingredients Needed:

  • 1 pound ground chuck (80 percent lean) or ground turkey (90 percent lean)
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 cloves roasted garlic, mashed
  • 4 hamburger buns, split
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 8 thin slices of Swiss cheese
  • 4 thin slices of smoked ham
  • 2 dill pickles, sliced into 1/4-inch-thick slices

  1. Prepare Patties: Divide the meat into 4 portions around 170g each. Shape into 2cm-thick patties and press a thumbprint in the center. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook Burgers: Heat oil in a pan over high heat. Cook beef patties for 3 minutes, and turkey patties for 5 minutes on the first side. Flip and cook beef for 4 minutes, turkey for 5 minutes, or until done.
  3. Melt Cheese: Add cheese to burgers in the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.
